International Authentic Movement Day
Online Gathering | Saturday, October 4th 2025
Pacific Time: 9:00 – 10:30 am / EDT: 12:00 – 1:30 pm / CET: 6:00 – 7:30 pm / Moscow: 7:00 – 8:30 pm

This year on International Authentic Movement Day, Nina Kungurova will be joined by Annie Geissinger, Joan Webb and Paula Sager who were the co-editors and publishers of A Moving Journal (1994 – 2006). In advance of the internet and social media, A Moving Journal offered a shared space of inquiry for the diverse and international field of Authentic Movement practitioners.
This legendary journal was published for 12(!) years, and it became the first public place where Authentic Movement practitioners from different countries wrote articles, discussed questions about practice, and shared their discoveries.
We hope that many subscribers, including those who contributed articles, poems, artwork, and photos to A Moving Journal, will be present at this online gathering!
This gathering is free of charge. To receive the zoom link for the event

On behalf of Circles of Four, Nina Kungurova offered an international online gathering in honor of Janet Adler (1941-2023), founder of the Discipline of Authentic Movement. This event features eight women who participated in Janet’s remarkable movie, Still Looking. Made nearly forty years ago in 1988, the film documents Janet’s early work with groups.
Lisa Bourgea, Jeanne Castle, Elizabeth Evans, Susan Gregory, Lizbeth Hamlin, Bonney Lynch, Kate McLaren, and Margaret Sekijima share their insights about the making of this film and their experiences working with Janet.

In honor and remembrance of Janet Adler, founder of the Discipline of Authentic Movement, we welcome all who have been touched by Janet’s presence to come together for one hour, in an on-line global gathering to be held on July 19, 2024, just one year after Janet’s passing.
Through brief written passages and film, your hosts Paula Sager, Bonnie Morrissey, and Jens Wazel will share their experiences of working closely with Janet. We will then open the space for participants to offer their own experiences of Janet and her work, with brief remembrances of anything that has moved them personally.
Please enjoy this recording of our online celebration of Janet Adler’s life and legacy. The event was held on July 19, 2024 and includes newly released footage of Janet in conversation with hosts Paula Sager and Bonnie Morrissey, a tribute by filmmaker Jens Wazel and reflections from practitioners touched by Janet’s presence and work.
